Artist Spotlight on ADELE
We’ve gotten so many call’s about her and her new song “Rollin In The Deep” that I’d thought I’d share some info on Adele Laurie Blue Adkins. She is a 23 year old singer better known as Adele is an English singer. She was the first recipient of the Brit Awards Critics' Choice and was named the number-one predicted breakthrough act of 2008 in an annual BBC poll of music critics, and at the 2009 Grammy Awards Adele won the awards for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. Poor thing has been sick lately but Adele's tour will soon be rolling again. Just last month, the Grammy winner was forced to postpone the remaining dates on her North American trek due to a bad case of laryngitis. But she’s heading back to the United States in August to resume her tour, and then return to the U.K. -- where she's spent the last month recovering from her illness--for another set of performances in September. Adele revealed the good news while chatting Tuesday morning on BBC Radio 1. "It's basically a hole in your vocal cord, but I sang through it, so that's why it popped, but I'm better now. " OUCH!

..Like Amy Winehouse a year ago Adele is a young big-haired RB-tinged British pop singer whos a Grammy favorite even though shes hardly a household name in the States...Unlike Winehouse Adele phones on time. The oft-troubled Winehouse canceled four telephone interviews with the Star Tribune last year before we connected but Adele nailed it the first time -- calling last month from a boisterous gay bar in London where they were playing her songs on the jukebox. ..I had to lock myself in the bathroom for an hour before I could come to terms with it said Adele who unlike Winehouse will attend the Grammys.
