In the new Newsweek magazine they imagine what Princess Diana would look like at 50, putting a digitally enhanced photo of her, alongside daughter-in-law Kate Middleton, on the cover of the latest issue. Diana, who appears trim with only a few wrinkles, would have reached her milestone birthday on July 1. In the cover story, Newsweek envisions that the Princess of Wales would have migrated to New York, dumped Dodi Al-Fayed, married twice more and made peace with her ex, Prince Charles, and his new wife Camilla. Newsweek adds that Diana would have enjoyed her new daughter-in-law and been best friends with Kate's mother Carole Middleton. To me it’s a kind of ghostly sight: a computer-generated image of a stylish Princess Diana walking with Kate Middleton? Really. The article inside was written by Diana biographer and longtime provocateur Tina Brown. She's also Newsweek's editor-in-chief. As we all remember Diana was killed in a car accident in 1997 and would have turned 50 on Friday. In April, Middleton married Prince William, the oldest son of Diana and Prince Charles. So it is appropriate for this “What would she have been like?'' article? Or is it shocking, brilliant or just plain cheap?
