WORLD'S MOST FAMOUS JACKET GOES ON SALE
The Jacket Michael Jackson wore in his "Thriller" video is hitting the auction block. Michael autographed the jacket as a gift to his longtime costume designers. The Auction administrator says the red and black leather jacket is the most recognized and significant piece of pop culture to come up for sale and he expects it to fetch at least $200,000, and it could possibly command as much as $300,000 to $500,000.
Other Jackson items up for sale include the wig he wore when he announced his "This Is It" concert series in London, a fedora and spangled glove, his shirt from the "Scream" video and the battered mailbox from the estate where he died in 2009.
Other famous items up for sale include sneakers signed by Britney Spears and a set of handwritten lyrics for songs by Johnny Cash. There is also a luxury car owned by Frank Sinatra.
The auction will feature over 600 artifacts belonging to some of music's biggest stars including The Beatles, Elvis, Bruce Springsteen, Kurt Cobain and Madonna, as well as new stars such as Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber.
The collection will be on view free to the public from June 13th to June 25th at Jullien's Auctions Gallery in Beverly Hills and the Auction is June 25th and 26th.
