Wet Nose Pet: Carl

June 7, 2017

Our vet took Carl (KD-01-09-01) home for some R&R and to Second Line Brewery and said he was a Great Boy!  He was very easily to walk, great with kids at the brewery and was very calm with everyone who wanted to say hi.  He plays fetch with himself - he will throw a toy and catch it or jump after it and throw it again. What a great way to entertain himself!  He didn't bark at anything while in the house including an obnoxious neighbor dog.  He slept quietly all night long and did not have an accident overnight.  He wants attention but will lie down and snooze.  Like most dogs, he is hard core beggar for food, so eating at the table would help a lot. He is almost housetrained. He had one small accident, but took care of business each time he was taken outside. He showed good house manners, and did not try to get onto the couch. He attempted once to get on the bed, but didn't try again after he was corrected. The only decorations he showed an interest in when excited and playing were decorative pillows, and those sure do look like stuffed dog toys.

We adore Carl's dreamy eyes. Volunteers describe him as playful, inquisitive, friendly and sweet. He has a moderate energy level. He enjoys playing fetch (but teach him to drop the toy). Make his day by offering him belly rubs. He already knows "sit."  and aims to please. Carl was good office dog in the front office. Carl was surrendered to the shelter by his owner who could not keep him. His former owner told us Carl is good with children. This big boy weighs 75 pounds.
