It's Carnival weekend in New Orleans with 26 Parades rolling through most parts of New Orleans. It looks like mother nature is going to be very nice to those who wish to indulge in the festivities. Sunshine but chilly with temps in the low 50's Saturday, and struggling to reach 50 Sunday.
There's also another big event going on this weekend. It's our "Love Song Weekend", where we will be not only playing the love songs you hear everyday on Magic 101.9, but a lot of the songs we haven't played in quite some time. We will also be taking request and dedications, so this will definitely be a weekend you would want to listen.

The Super is the only event where people not only forward to the game, but the commercials that are played during the game as well. This year is no different as Super Bowl 46 had plenty of ads that sold sex as well as cars. It looks like car ads have replaced beer ads, because every time the game took a break from the action, there was a car commercial most of the time. But the Doritos won the battle of best commercials according to the Super Bowl Ad Meter which records your votes.
Here are the top 10 commercials:
1. Doritos: Sling Baby
2. Doritos: Man's Best Friend
3. Bud Light: Weego
4. M&M's: Just My Shell
5. Skechers: Go Run
6. Volkswagen: Dog Strikes Back
7. Kia: A Dream Car: For Real Life
8. Chevy: Silverado
9. Audi: Vampire Party
10. Honda: CRV's Day Out
There will be a lot of this in the kitchen this Sunday as the biggest game world wide takes place in Indianapolis. The strang thing is that over the years the commercials have gotten almost as popular as the game itself. With the Saints not in it this year, it's hard to root for a team. Oh what the heck, I'm taking the Patriots by 4.
The X-Factor will have a very different look when it returns this fall. No Steve Jones as host, no Nicole Scherzinger or Paula Abdul as judges either. Some reports say it was a budget cutting move, but we know the show hasn't lived up to expectations in the ratings category. When X-Factor lauched, producter Simon Cowell predicted it would eclipse his previous show, American Idol. That didn't happen so why is Simon still employed?
